Does anyone else attempt Persian and/or Indian music on the MD? I am positive it is possible and have had some success recreating both styles of music on the MD. I simply want to find other folks trying the same or similar methods.
The Persian Setar and Tar are tuned CGC, and played in modes. The Dulcimer, similarly is DAD, a step above CGC and played Modally and are both essentially 3 stringed.

Wed, June 11, 2008 - 5:13 PMMidEastern music sounds great! on the dulcimer. Mine is almost perpetually tunes to Aeolian, except for when the toddler can get a hold of the tuning knbs *doh*. I have a penchant for things Turkish, myself. Please let us know what you come up with. :)
